LOUDON CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH
An evangelical, Christ-centered fellowship in central New Hampshire

It's pretty hard to find a group of young Christians more amazing than the

LCC Youth Group*

*According to a recent poll of the church membership, accounting, of course, for some parental bias.

Regular meeting times:

Family Night (Wednesday evenings) at LCC at 7:30pm  This is usually a time consisting of some fun activities, music, worship and prayer, and a teaching time led by an adult youth worker or an older member of the LCC Youth Group.

The Youth Group is currently studying outreach... with some interesting upcoming plans to not only study it, but to DO IT.

Sunday mornings after worship, around 11:30 at LCC  This is a more structured class setting with plenty of opportunity for group discussions on the lesson topics.  The teaching is currently on the book of Acts.

AND... A whole bunch of other times that we can't really post here because they just... come up.  We do stuff like go to SoulFest in Gilford every August, or a bunch of us go see a movie together, go swimming, get together for pizza or silly stuff... you know how it is with friends.  Ya just gotta come and plug in!

The Church NOW

The LCC Youth Group is open to young people in Junior and Senior High School.  The core philosophy that underscores everything this group does is something I remind them of again and again:  "You are the Church... NOW."  The idea that they are only the "someday" church, that they must wait until they are old enough for God to use them, is rejected.  The mission of the adults in the church is to provide guidance and protection for them for sure.  However, the vital aim for all our lessons and activities and interaction must be for each of them to move deeper and deeper into an intimate bond with Jesus Christ.  We teach them to expect His presence, to expect that He will give them spiritual gifts, and to expect that they will hear His call to use them.

We also believe that our wonderful Father God loves to hear the laughter of His young disciples.  Our approach is this:  we take the serious things SERIOUSLY-- and everything else is fodder for joy and levity.  This is a group I love with all my heart.  If you come to the LCC Youth Group, this is what you will find:

  • A group of Christian young people who will welcome you, talk to you, include you, and try very hard to make you feel at home and at ease
  • A relaxed, fun atmosphere
  • Many opportunities to learn and ask questions without being made to feel like you should already "get it"
  • A place where the deep things about life problems,  life purpose, and God are discussed
  • A group of Christian young people who will eagerly pray for you, with you, and for each other
  • Young people who are really experiencing the work of Jesus Christ in their lives
  • Some college-age young adults who attend, who enjoy learning and helping lead and teach
  • Real friends who love each other

All youth are welcome to join in with the meetings, lessons, and activities of the LCC Youth Group at any time.  Young people who are searching are just as welcome to come with their questions and doubts as are Christian young people looking for a young faith community.  You may call Loudon Congregational Church at 783-9478, or just show up to one of our regular meeting times.

-Shawne Randlett, LCC Youth Leader

What a few of these church punks have to say about themselves:

"We're just a simple bunch of people tryin' to make a difference; but we still put our pants on one leg at a time."  -Sam, age 15

"Well, the Youth Group is like a big bowl of fruit.  You have your pineapple, you have your apples, and you have your mangoes."  -Dave, age 17

"Our youth group rawks your inflatable microwave." -Mike, age 19
