Other Ministries and Missions

Our Ministries would not be complete if we did not support others in their God-given work!

A percentage of the church’s income is given to other ministries and missions.  As of 2023, the church has increased the percentage given to other ministries to 12% of income.

On some Sundays we also have special collections for other ministries and missions.

And we’ve partnered with St. Pauly Textile Inc. to host a clothing drop-off shed.

Care Women’s Center of Greater Concord

We support Care Women’s Center of Greater Concord and regularly participate in their baby bottle fundraiser each Spring, filling baby bottles with cash, coins, and check donations to the pregnancy center.  In 2017 we raised about $200 this way.  In 2018 we filled even more bottles — 18 — and raised over $300!  The sixteen bottles collected on Father’s Day are shown below.

We continue to participate in Care Women’s Center’s baby bottle fundraiser in 2023 and beyond.

Samaritan’s Purse’s Operation Christmas Child

Having packed 4 shoeboxes in 2016 and 10 in 2017, our goal in 2018 was 20 shoeboxes filled with school supplies, hygiene items, and other toys and gifts for distribution by Samaritan’s Purse as part of their Operation Christmas Child project. These shoebox gifts are distributed to children in need throughout the world — along with the Good News of Jesus Christ as appropriate given each child’s age, country, and context.

By July 2018, efforts were well underway both to raise $200 (to cover shipping and a small donation to Samaritan’s Purse) and to prepare the shoeboxes — including some handmade toys!

Each November we joyously dedicate the packed shoeboxes during congregational worship before bringing them to a shoebox drop-off location.

2018’s goal was met, and Operation Christmas Child delivered the boxes to Senegal!

Shoeboxes prepared and dedicated in November 2018

In 2019 our goal was to again prepare at least 20 shoeboxes, and make sure they are all specially filled with gifts.

In 2022 we added a goal page for building shoeboxes online, and we continued that tradition in 2023.  Visit the app (or website at https://loudon.churchtrac.com/) to find a link to the goal page in season.
